Spoon plus bird makes what? The answer is ROSEATE SPOONBILLS! Look at the illustration on the right. Can you believe it? There actually are those birds living in the United States. Roseate spoonbills are living in the coasts of the States of Florida, Texas, and Lousinana. They are waders, and probe for worms, crayfish, and crabs in the shallow waters. Facts are often a little more mysterious and fantastic than our imagination. Right?

For more information, visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission site. Click on "Wildlife Viewing" first and, on the dropdown menu, "species spotlights" to eventually get to "waterbirds" in the "birds" category.
